Yesterday afternoon, before I arrived at work, a young lady called the the restaurant and asked if she could get a special pizza for her boyfriend’s birthday.
She wanted a pepperoni pizza, with the slices laid down in a heart shape. When I arrived, the counter gal asked if I had any problem doing this. No big deal…
Later the young lady called again to confirm the order, but wanted to add a topping of black olives and plenty of topping cheese.
We decided all that stuff would obscure the heart, so…. I rolled out a sheet of dough and hand cut a heart shape, sauced it, put down pepperoni and olives and baked it.
I think it turned out pretty nice, huh…?

Oh.. The pizza was a success…

Hope everyone (here in the U.S.) has a wonderful Fourth…
I’ll be working 2pm until close and if it’s as busy as it was last year, it won’t be a fun evening. But….
I’ll be bringing along my own noise-maker.

It’s a homemade PVC version of the old carbide cannons made by Big Bang Cannons.
And a little pretty to finish off the post. The Tiger Lilies seem to be blooming everywhere around here.

It appears so…
I’ve been too busy the past two weeks to even think about the blog. Even my days off have been wrapped up in in prior commitments and work that just keeps getting put off.
Yesterday was a scheduled fun day and I made the most of it. I signed up for a photo excursion on the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad. Can you imagine a whole day taking pictures of a single train?
The morning started with a 4am alarm and didn’t finish until I climbed into bed at nearly 11pm. More than 70 pictures (I promise I won’t share *all* of them) and a chance to ride in the cab of the steam engine.
I’m 60 years old and I’m falling in love with steam…

I’ll see if I can keep posting intervals under two weeks….
