There is a nice option "Comment author must have a previously approved comment". Switch this on. :) Additionally install the plug-in Impostercide from skippy.net to prevent spammers abusing approved email/author combinations (they may know Matt Muellenweg's combination and many other well-known blogger's and may give it a try).

Self-moderation by the comment author's themselve through a confirmation link sent to their email address may also help. You can find it on the same blog. :)

Hi Jerry--Nothing to do with your latest post, but I want to recommend a book to you. It's called The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression by Andrew Soloman

I have been reading it and this writer is so eloquent. I've found it to be very therapeutic for me. I know you've had some rough times over the past several months, and as someone who struggles with depression, I've felt a lot of empathy when I've read of your struggles. I just wanted to share this book with you and hope maybe it might help you as it has me.

Cheers, and a blessed solstice/Christmas/holiday, etc. to you.

Another book you might like is "Hello To All That - A memoir of war, zoloft and peace" by John Falk. Good writer.
