ooh I *do* like that colorway! I wasn't sure when you said the name because, well, red and greeny things aren't my fave. They're really good with colorways, aren't they? When I knit a row or two (as the carpal tunnel allows) I'm working on a multi-directional scarf too. It's a great way to make a mindless garter thing more interesting. Thanks for sharing the ponies! All the ones in our neighborhood have been yanked :( That's "bad bull" as they used to say at my university...

Jerry have you ever heard of geocaching? Reading about your love for 'going to look for things' you'd be a perfect fit for this 'sport'. I can't believe how many caches there are in your area. Check out www.geocaching.com and put in your zip code. All of those little blue and green boxes are 'treasures' just waiting to be found. If you are interested and want to discuss it a little more-email me. My husband and I are addicted! Molly-

Geocaching... I actually had/have an account on geocaching.com. Had an interest a couple of years ago, but with everything else going on, I never did anything. I'll have to take a look at the site again and I'll probably be sending you some email later. Thanks for the pointer...

Mima.. Sorry you're having problems learning the multi-directional technique. It's actually pretty simple once you understand the concept. Too bad you don't live near. I'd be glad to show you how.

*de-lurking* When you first said you got the Christmas Rock color of socks that rock, I thought "I must have!" But when I got to the Blue Moon booth on Sunday and actually held the yarn in my hand, I decided I didn't really like the colors, even though I normally like Christmas yarn. But now that I see it knit up, I'm kicking myself. It's wonderful! Is that just a basic multi-directional pattern? I've never tried it, but I think I might now.

Christmas Rock colorway. I'm not sure what it would be like in a straight stitch pattern, but in this garter stitch scarf, I kinda like the pooling that is the bane of self-patterning yarn.

And the pattern is the <a href="http ://crowingram.threadbearfiberarts.com/ images/multi-directional-scarf.pdf" rel="nofollow">basic multidirectional scarf</a>.
