Knitting groups can serve a lot of purposes! I have used them to meet new people when I am new in town, or just to get out and stop contemplating my navel and remember that the world is moving around me. And these people that I otherwise wouldn't meet are smart and interesting, so it broadens my horizons too.

You're not being an ass. You're being a decent human being. Too bad the weekend boyfriend isn't. Eileen's loss-BIG TIME. Good for you for joining a local group. Great place to meet the future Mrs. When Knitting Was A Manly Art! (wink)I'm glad to hear a little hope in your 'voice' again. You GO Dude!

Hmmm...Well I don't think making one minor snarky comment qualifies you as an ass. And even if it does, changing your schedule to help someone you care about, regardless of the change in your relationship, like a kind and decent human being, certainly makes up for it. I am glad to hear the clouds are lifting and that you are getting out in the world again. There is nothing like isolation for shifting everything out of proportion. You are in my thoughts.

Yea.. ass was a poor choice of words. Definitely snarky though :-)

My three day trial finished suddenly this morning when the two sides managed to settle. Damages dropped from $250,000 to $75,000 over lunch yesterday and we (jurors) kind of expected that they would settle rather than taking their chances with us.

Sometimes it takes a rough patch on the road of life to get us back to basics. Sounds like you landed in a pretty good place.

Your talk of jury duty reminded me of a book I read recently entitle KNIT ONE, KILL TWO, by Maggie Sefton. It's fluff, but encompasses two of my 'likes' ... Knitting and murder mystery's.

You're not being an ass, you're being a supportive man who has been under a lot of stress. You're a good man, Jerry. I don't think you'll have any trouble finding a nice woman to share your life with. (I kinda wish you were in Nebraska.... ;) )

Judi and all

The ass statement was aimed at my snarky comment about weekend boyfriends and their inability to support their weekend girlfriends.

It was a poor choice of words, it probably wasn't a nice thing to say out loud, but it does piss me off and sometimes ya' just gotta vent...

Hey, if you can't vent on your own blog, where the heck can you vent? Life WILL have its challenges, and it's how you face them and deal with them that defines your character. I'd say your character is a darn good one. We're all pulling for you!
