When Knitting Was a Manly Art

After nearly 3 1/2 years of doing this, I’m feeling overwhelmed and in need of just not worrying about the blog.

My knitting has come to a virtual standstill, more pressure from work, what free time I have is being taken up by the nursery. We had our first major sale this past weekend and we have a full Saturday and Sunday sale coming up weekend after next.

So.. I’m going to take a month off. A month of not kicking myself for not posting. My weather postings are also being taken offline, as I can’t seem to keep them up either. See you at the end of May.

It’s been days since I’ve posted any weather or anything else semi-interesting.

We’ve been short-handed at work which as meant longer hours and less free time, but things are quieting down this week. So let’s start again.

I’m still around and obviously not posting much. Between work and an increasingly busy nursery, there’s not much for anything else.

But.. Occasionally I run across a funny I have to share.

A biker was riding along a California beach when suddenly the sky
clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, the Lord said, “Because
you have TRIED to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one
wish.”

The biker pulled over and said, “Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride
over anytime I want.”

“Your request is materialistic. Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! It will nearly exhaust several natural resources. I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that would honor and glorify me.”

The biker thought about it for a long time. Finally he said, “Lord, I wish that I could understand my wife. I want to know how she feels
inside, what she’s thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing’s wrong, and how I can make a woman truly happy.”

The Lord replied, “You want two lanes or four on that bridge?”
