Catching up — again

It’s been ages since I posted any real content.

Last Saturday was our only fiber sale of the year. The Spring Fiber sale at Abernathy Grange has always been a good for us, though this year wasn’t the best. We did manage to sell enough to pay for the space and gasoline, but not much else. As we’re down to 8 sheep, it’s kind of doubtful that we’ll have anything good enough for next year’s sale. I’ll miss it.

I love my job, but it’s definately getting in the way of blogging and knitting. Another pay raise since the first of the year - I’m all the way up to $8.75/hour. Not bad when you consider I started at $7.50 in August. Still not getting 40 hours a week, but the owner is pushing me as close as he can without going over it. Most weeks I’m closing 4 days a week and opening on Mondays, working the lunch crowd to give him a weekday off. I didn’t think I could stand working a swing shift, but I’m used to it now and it’s kind of nice to have the day free.

Life is slowly returning to the RidgeTop. Trees are leafing out. Roses are starting to show life. The native Indian Plum (Oemleria cerasiformis) is blooming and it’s new leaves and blooms are a welcome reminder that winter ends eventually

Nice pics as usual. It’s good to check in and find you again sometimes. Working away from home is the pits even if you like your job.
Saw the notice for the Antique tractor show in Woodburn coming up I-5 yesterday. Are you going next weekend? I missed exactly where it is.
