Willy Warmers

January 1st, 2006 Jerry 4 comments

The past couple of days I should have been working on my circular shawl (and I have finished a few more rounds), but instead I worked on something completely silly.

One of my co-workers has a logger for a father and he seems to have the typical logger humor. A bit nasty, a bit shocking, mostly funny if you follow along.

During one of our conversations about my knitting and some of the crazy things knitters make, I mentioned Willy Warmers. Missy had no idea what I was talking about and I carefully explained what a Willy Warmer was. After she stopped laughing, she asked if I would make one for her father. I told her that when I had time, I’d make a try – I’ve never knitted one before.

I’ve had a little extra time over the past couple of days and finished my first Willy Warmer. A bit more anatomically correct that I expected. Still it was fun. A nice Seed Stitch top border and and I-Cord tie. I’ve got it in a “Plain Paper Bag” to give to her tomorrow to pass on to her father. She says he’ll probably hang it from his rear view mirror in his truck. ;-)
