I’ve got a day off and nobody to share it with.

Eileen has her Landscape Design class today and won’t be home until after 5pm. I’m sitting here working on the Feather and Fan Shawl (!!!!!), but I need to take off and get some groceries and check the PO Box for incoming yarn (!!!!!).

Last Sunday we headed out to the Jewell Meadows Elk Reserve and took some pictures. I managed to finally put together a panorama of the eastern end of the meadows and a herd of 50-75 elk cows and a few bulls. Click on photo for larger picture

And an unusual visitor for our *relatively* low elevation. Over the past couple of years we’ve been visited by Gray Jays. Yesterday morning, three were working hard on our suet feeder. Here’s on of them sitting in a Lilac bush nearby.

I’ve been working on and off on the Wikipedia article about Elizabeth Zimmermann and receiving quite a bit of help from a more competent Wiki user to smooth out the rough edges. As bare-boned as it is, it’s starting to look nice.

I contacted Schoolhouse Press about using some of the information about EZ on their site and got a nice reply from Meg - How cool is that?

Hopefully, I’ll be able to flesh out the article over the coming weeks (months? knowing my schedule).

Day off. Yesterday was my first day off in 9 days and I *enjoyed* it. Slept in, and then took a leisurely drive out to the Jewell Meadows Wildlife Area and about 100 Elk cows and a half dozen bulls. I attempted a panorama shot, but the pictures are still in the camera. I’ll try to put them together tomorrow.
