A walk around the farm this morning revealed a number of plants in blossom, despite the crappy spring/summer we’ve had so far.
Early last year I purchased a hardy Passion Flower that produced just a single flower. My luck with Passion Flower has been miserable, but this may be be turning point. This plant is absolutely covered with buds and has been flowering continuously for the past two weeks.
Eileen collects carnivorous plants, especially Pitcher plants. These guys blossom early, but even I find the plants intriguing.
I love the red veining. Sarracenia flava variety
A native to southern Oregon - Darlingtonia californica.

This has been a trying spring/summer for us this year. Weather and the need to catch up with stuff we’ve let slide here on the farm and nursery has meant long days. Mostly I’ve been too tired in the evening to make coherent posts. We’ve finally hired a young lady to help out, but that means starting earlier and having to play supervisor to keep her busy and on projects that need to be done. I’m hoping that things start quieting down in the next month or so.
Kiri is drawing to a close. About 15 rows to completetion. Then I face trying to figure out what I screwed up with PNW Shawl. And I *really* need to finish the toe up socks.
Horses.. I realized the other day, that I’ve never posted pictures of our two horses. As the oldest members of the family, it’s a shame they haven’t been introduced before.
Horizontal Bop - yes, that’s his registered name - is a registered Arab gelding. He’s 20 years old and I’ve owned him since he was about 2 1/2 years.
Dan’s Roni - and yes, that’s her registered name - is a registered American x European Belgium draft mare. She’s nearly 19 years old and Eileen has owned her since she was about 1 1/2 years old.
Bop is 14.3 hands and Roni is 17 hands - Hands.
Bop on the left and Roni on the right.

Sooo close.
Twenty rows and Kiri is done, but the way things are going as far as farm/nursery work is concerned, it still could be a couple weeks before it’s off needles.

Once again..
Still here and still knitting.
I’m currently overwhelmed with farm work. Kiri is nearly finished and I’ll post a picture when I’m done.
Finger is still a bit tender, but I’m able to use it.
