Not what I expected
Just off the phone with ABC (Australian Broadcasting Company) Radio and the interview was not what I expected…
Liam and Andrew were my interviewers and mostly it was jokes. No questions about how I got started, no questions about the history of Male knitters, just one funny question after the other. All in good taste, but still… They did finish the interview with a pointer to my Blog, so maybe I’ll be seeing a few new visitors from Perth, Australia in the next few days.
Anyway.. It was fun and even with the jokes, I’m proud to represent Male knitters to the folks of Perth.

Hi Jerry
I am sad that of all the people in Perth Liam was the person to do the interview.
I for one do not listen to him I prefer to listen to 6pr. http://6pr.com.au/ it is a commercial talk back and can be listened to on the PC.
I know that there are many male knitters in Perth, as one of the places I purchase yarn from is owned and run by a male Tony, he designs and machine knits many outfits that have been published in mags in the UK.

Never the less I am sorry that I missed you on the ABC. Congratulation for been on the air waives in our beautiful city of Perth.
Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing with the world not only your knitting but all the beautiful photos.

I honestly feel a bit suckered over this interview.
The lead in phone calls with the producer were pretty straight forward. Questions about how I got started, how long I’ve been knitting, whether I had any knowledge about the history of males in knitting. Follow up emails seemed to point to just a simply interview.
Then I went on the air with a pair of comedians. They were both good and the humor was clean and they didn’t take any unfair jabs at me or men knitting, but…
Anyway, I’ve asked if I can get a tape of the program and the producer has said that it shouldn’t be a problem. So I’ll have a record of my on-air introduction to Perth…

I was so wanting your Interview to be good experience. I am 100% sure that if you had been interviewed on 6pr you would have had more fun especially on the night line program that is on right now presented by Graham Mabury. As far as I know Liam, is not a comedian and does talk back on every day events. Again, I am sorry that Liam did not have the intelligence to conduct a proper interview. It was his loss.
