Quick update
A quick update on the Lotus Blossom Shawl before we start unloading the truck and trying to figure out where we will store all these plants.
Finished the 5th pattern row this morning. Also switched from Crystal Palace bamboo circulars (which I swear I’ll never use again) and onto a longer aluminum tipped circular. I much prefer the joins and the slick aluminum works best for me.
This is a much better photo this morning and shows much more of the detail of the pattern. I really like the results of natural light photos, though the color always seems to be a bit washed out.

I hate bamboo needles myself. I’ve become very partial to the ‘Turbo’ brand metal needles and am in the process of replacing sizes to these. Isn’t it soothing to be knitting lace? Somehow the patterns just flow and seem intuitive after a couple patterns. You’ve inspired me to start another lace shawl. Maybe for my Mom this time. Enjoy!

Looking great! I’m interested in seeing how that becomes the shape you’ve outlined — do you cast off stitches in the middle? I like the lace pattern very much, it should block out beautifully.

Basically, the right wing is finished first, with middle and left wing held aside. Middle is then cast off and the left wing is finished.
