					<description>my father was in the Navy and spent time off the coast of vietnam.  I'm not sure where.  I just know the captain of his ship got mad at him and chucked his guitar overboard one day.

					<description>Ah.  I was commenting to ask what it is appropriate to say to a veteran.  But I see from the comment above.  Thank you.

I saw an older gent in a book store yesterday wearing a hat that said he was a veteran.  And I thought of saying something, but didn't know what to say.  So we chatted about my daughter instead, and his nine grandchildren.  It was pleasent enough, but I wanted to acknowledge more, somehow, and didn't know what to say.
