A mostly worthless week
Except for a couple days on the Dubblemossa, no other knitting accomplished this week. The poor Aran hasn’t been touched in nearly a week.
Yesterday was a visit to Eileen’s elderly father. His memory is deteriorating rapidly and they needed to get together to go over documents, plans, etc. - only child and no other family except equally elderly brothers. A boring day for me and I never even thought about taking something along.
This morning I overslept for the first time in ages - none of my furry alarm clocks seemed to be working this morning. That meant that my usual free hour was quickly disappearing and in the end was eaten up by other morning needs. Another wet and chilly day and I’m expecting a ton of grass hay for the horses - if the farmer can find a break in the rain to load up and deliver.
Tomorrow is the Yard, Garden and Patio Show at the Convention Center in lovely downtown Portland. As we’ve just joined OAN (Oregon Association of Nurseries), we got free passes. OAN is one of the sponsers and it’s a terrific show, not only for the public, but also us new nursery people. A good way to see what’s new this year and what the public is interested in. And, for plant geeks, it’s amazingly fun. Lot’s to see and too much to buy, so we’ll be leaving early in the morning and once again, no time for knitting. Maybe Sunday.
