Congratulations on your First and Second; I knew you would win with that Gansey. What on earth placed first if the gansey placed second? Cheers to ya!

Good news -- congratulations. Your work is inspiring and deserving of a first and second! Thank you for sharing, it is one way to continue the tradition of knitting and encourage othere to learn or improve the craft/art of knitting.

Congratulations! I would have loved to see your sweater and shawl in person.

The toad lily picture is great. I think I'll use it for wallpaper for a while. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations! There was never a moment's doubt that you would win. The first thing I do when I open my bookstore every day is check out your blog. It's always a treat. I find that I want to knit the same things you're knitting, but I'm afraid my skill level is way below yours. I think I asked before, but where is the SOA pattern from. I have one I ordered from Black Water Abbey (I think that's the name). The pattern is very nice and they have some beautiful yarn, but I think it's a different pattern. I know you're busy this weekend, but when you have a moment please let me know. I love the cables in the green. Keep up the good knitting. Carol

Thanks everyone...

Carol..
SOA - Son Of Aran - was designed by Janet Szabo with input from the folks on Aranknit list. The best place to find the pattern from Janet's newsletter - Twists and Turns - at http://www.bigskyknitting.com/Twists%20and%20Turns/twistsandturns.html
You'll need the Spring 2001 issue. Another, less focused version is available at http://www.cs.oswego.edu/~ebozak/knit/soa/index.html

I'm working from the Twists and Turns newsletters.

I'm not surprised your knitting took prizes. It was certainly deserving of them. Congratulations to a skilled knitter. I think your sock is going to be very pretty when completed.

Jerry, I would have been surprised if your knitting had NOT won prizes! Even my husband (who has absolutely no interest in learning to knit) was impressed by them. Congratulations!

Jerry, My daughter and I were fondling the entries at OFFF and she especially loved your gansey. My fave was the shawl. Imagine my delight when I realized who the knitter was! Even tho I haven't written to you before, I appreciate your comments on the lace list and fairly regularly read your blog entries. You did a beautiful job on both, and they clearly deserved their recognition.
Congratulations and best wishes,
Sarah
