Old Fart and Gansey
Ok… I promised a picture of the completed Gansey on a model and I guess this is the best you’re going to get. One less than perfect picture of the old fart and the gansey.
I’ll try later for an outdoor shot that will probably highlight the stitches better.

Jerry, I’ve been reading your blog since about the time you started the gansey. I have really enjoyed following your progress on it. It looks awesome and you have very good reason to be proud of it. Thanks for the gansey journey and for sharing a little about life on a farm in Oregon. Take care and I hope you get out of your knitting funk.

Jerry, Great work, way to go, I would say great work for an old fart but you don’t look old or like a fart. LOL. Your going to inspire me to make one of those. I’m working on the multidirectional scarf and had to go with a larger needle because I didn’t like using a needle suggested for the yarn. I’m using the nore kuryeon and a size 13 needle. It gives it more drape and kind of a lacy look. Thanks for the link to the DNA scarf. It’s always fun to hear the story behind the item. Good luck at the festival!

I LIKE this photo. You look like you’re about to start using the gansey in some outdoor rugged activity, such as catching sheep and dragging them around to be sheared. Intelligent looking model, intelligent looking sweater.
If indeed, sweaters have brains.
Which if they do I’m pretty sure ganseys such as this would lead the pack.

Hey Jerry,
I’d say the old fart knows how to knit, and knows how to wear it! You look great in your beautiful sweater. I feel honored that you knitted my design.
Warmly,
Beth

Wow, the sweater looks great, and it looks great on you. I started reading your blog mid-gansey, and had to keep reading to see it done. And the compliment from Beth Brown-Reinsel!!!
Maybe you are suffering a little slump because you created such a masterpiece — give yourself a little time. I can’t wait to see your next sweater — this is inspiring for us blog readers.
