No motivation

I don’t know if it’s because of the end of summer, or because the gansey is done, or if I’m tired of working every day of the week on the farm or something else — but I’m really got the ‘no motivation’ blues right now.

I’m still working on the DNA scarf, but not much else. The multidirectional will probably be ripped out as I really don’t like the hand/feel of the finished fabric. I don’t know if I need a larger needle or the yarn is just not right, but it ain’t working.

I should be working/planning the SOA, but I’m just not interested. My self-patterning socks haven’t been touched in days and I’m not interested in working on them either.

The gansey is washed and dried and looks pretty good. I’ve been convinced to enter it and the Lace Garland circular shawl in the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival. Now all I need to do is get the registration formed filled out and mailed before next Saturday.

Sometimes when I start getting unmotivated, I declare a moratorium — I’ll SAY it’s for a month, but then within two weeks I’m raring to pick up the needles again.

Thanks, by the way, for putting up the pictures of the DNA scarf — I know it’s been knocking around for a while, but I hadn’t seen it before — and it’s quite a keeper.

I guess what I’m going to do, is not worry about it.

I really think that finishing the gansey is part of my problem. It has been major focus these past 4 months and except for the DNA scarf, I’ve not got anything that interests me or is testing me.

I’ve almost finished the cable repeats on the first leg of the scarf and I’ll post more pics in a day or two.
