You stated this beautifully.

At one point in time I had five cats and Izzy was the youngest and last of those five. This is the first time in 23 years that I have had no cat and it is not a good feeling. When my other kitties died, there was always another one there to console me and brighten my life.

The condo where I live put in their bylaws a few years ago that residents may only have one pet. So I am a reluctant one-at-a-time cat owner.

But this weekend I am starting the search to find a new little furry friend. I've already faxed an adoption application to one rescue organization. wish me luck!

Jerry,
I'm a dog person myself; we are of fundamentally different dispositions. But it all comes down to love of a furry heartbeat.

Congratulations on your family.
